- Temp below 10 in 17 dists including Bhopal
Bhopal: For the first time in February, the night temperature in Madhya Pradesh fell below 5 degrees. On Saturday night, the mercury in Kalyanpur of Shahdol was 4.5 degrees. At the same time, cold increased in 17 cities including Bhopal and the temperature remained below 10 degrees.
However, there is a possibility of change in the weather again from Sunday. Snowfall in North India has increased the effect of cold in the state as well. A drop in day and night temperature was seen for the last four days. There was a significant decrease in mercury on Saturday-Sunday night. Bhopal, Shahdol, Rajgarh, Shajapur, Umaria, Chhatarpur, Singrauli, Tikamgarh, Mandla, Raisen, Guna, Satna, Sidhi, Damoh, Rewa and Narmadapuram districts shivered. Kalyanpur of Shahdol remained the coldest.

Here the mercury was recorded at 4.5 degrees, 5 degrees in Rajgarh, 5.8 degrees in Girwar of Shajapur, 6.1 degrees in Umaria-Naugaon, 6.4 degrees in Deora of Singrauli, 7.4 degrees in Khajuraho, 7.8 degrees in Tikamgarh, 8.3 degrees in Mandla, 8.5 degrees in Raisen, 8.6 degrees in Guna-Satna, 9 degrees in Sidhi, 9 degrees in Damoh, 9.2 degrees in Rewa and 9.4 degrees Celsius in Pachmarhi.
Some relief from cold during day
On Sunday, there was some relief from cold during the day. An increase in mercury was seen in many cities. The mercury was more than 27 degrees in Bhopal, Betul, Dhar, Guna, Gwalior, Narmadapuram, Indore, Khargone, Ratlam, Shivpuri, Ujjain, Khajuraho, Mandla, Sagar, Seoni, Tikamgarh, Umaria and Malanjkhand. In Mandla and Ujjain the mercury remained above 30 degrees. The temperature might rise on Sunday.
Cold wind blew between 20 to 25Kmph. On Saturday the maximum wind speed in many cities of the state was 20 to 25 kmph. In Bhopal it was less than 10 kmph. The wind speed was also low in Indore, Gwalior and Ujjain. For the last 2 days the wind speed in the state had reached 36 kmph.
