Patna, Feb 16 (UNI) Leader of the opposition Tejaswi Prasad Yadav on Friday said that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had come with folded hands to his parents requesting them to accept him in Grand Alliance in 2022.
Yadav said Kumar was very apprehensive of BJP creating a split in his party JD(U) in the year 2022 and had come with folded hands to his parents Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi requested them to accept him in the Grand Alliance. Kumar had requested his parents to forgive him and save him from the sinister design of BJP trying to split JD(U), he pointed out.
” I was aware of the fact that there was no guarantee for Kumar when he would make a ‘ U ‘ turn but Lalu Ji showing a large heart, accepted him and extended support to enable Kumar to become Chief Minister heading the Grand Alliance government in 2022″, leader of the opposition said adding that Kumar did the same things again which was being expected. Kumar had joined hands with the BJP to form NDA government on January 28 this year but there was no guarantee for how long he would continue there, he added.
” In assembly on February 12, I had asked all BJP MLAs whether there was any guarantee for Kumar not making another ‘ U ‘ turn and there was complete silence among saffron party legislators having no reply”, Yadav said adding that he had no grudge against Kumar for his “U” turn. Whenever Kumar thought it proper to return to Grand Alliance, he was always prepared to welcome him, he remarked.
Leader of opposition said Grand Alliance was all set to gain a majority in the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections but some of its candidates were defeated due to irregularities committed by authorities at the instance of the BJP. His party had always been committed to serving the oppressed and deprived of society, he stressed.
