Now electronic records will also be considered as papers

  • GAD amended the rules

Kanhaiya Lodhi, Bhopal
This is the age of information technology, as time is passing, the interference of electronics in government work is also increasing. Now e-files have also started moving in departments. Here, questions of MLAs have also started being submitted online in the assembly. In such a situation, now the government also needs to change the rules. Earlier in the government system, the movement of government files was mostly done in papers, in such a situation these papers had their own importance, but now electronic records have started taking their place, so now electronic records will also be considered as papers.

The General Administration Department has amended the MP Governance Work Rules. Now according to the amendment, the paper or record will be considered that which is typed or printed. Along with this, if there is any electronic record under the Information Technology Act 2000, then also it will be recognized as a paper or record.

Why amendment was required

Actually, if this amendment has been made, then the main reason for this is the campaign of the state government to make government work paperless. Now the state government is trying to make government work completely hi-tech. In this effort, most of the files in government correspondence or work are being generated in the online system instead of preparing them on paper. Not only are online files coming into movement, but signatures are also being validated under the online system. Through this, the government is trying to reduce the damage being caused to the environment due to the consumption of paper. So far, along with the Ministry, the Department Head Office, Divisional Commissioner Office and Collector Offices in the districts are also being made hi-tech, due to which government work can be made paperless here.

Govt working on e-Vidhan, e-Cabinet and e-MLA Office

The state government has announced in the last budget to develop e-Vidhan, e-Cabinet and e-MLA Office systems to speed up government work. A provision of Rs 5 lakh per MLA has also been made for e-MLA Officer. Meanwhile, the system of e-Cabinet is also being developed in the ministry. That is, the folder of the agenda of the cabinet will not be prepared on paper. This agenda will be uploaded in the system of the ministers at a certain time. In the cabinet room, the ministers will be able to see the complete details of the agenda in their system. Similarly, e-Vidhan system is being developed to make the Vidhan Sabha completely paperless. It will be implemented from next year.
