Olympics: Argentina’s Torres Gil claims surprise gold in men’s BMX freestyle

Paris, July 31 (UNI) Jose Torres Gil of Argentina won the gold medal in the men’s BMX freestyle final at the Paris Olympics on Wednesday.

He secured the gold with a stunning 94.82 points in his opening run and was able to hold off the competition.

Britain’s Kieran Reilly scored a big 93.91 points in his second round to claim the silver.

Home favorite Anthony Jeanjean overcame a fall in his first run to net 93.76 points in his second try and took the bronze.

Australia’s Logan Martin finished last in the final, with the reigning Olympic champion making important errors on each of his runs.
