Bhopal: Hanumanganj police have arrested a drug smuggler. 577 grams of opium worth Rs 1.50 lakh has been seized from the accused. The arrested accused is originally from Mandsaur. Currently he was living in Gandhi Nagar area. The accused had gone out to supply opium, when the police caught him. According to the information, information was received from the informer that a person present near the Paan Mandi on Parallel Road is roaming around with a black colored backpack, which may be carrying drugs. After the information, the police team reached the spot and detained the suspect of the described appearance. On interrogation, he told his name as Rahul Yadav (27) resident of village Dabla Gurjar, police station Shyamgarh district Mandsaur, present address Patanjali Complex Police Station Gandhinagar Bhopal.
On searching the backpack he was carrying, a brown coloured substance was found in polythene, which was identified as opium. On weighing, the opium was found to be 577 grams, whose market value is said to be Rs 1.50 lakh. Police have registered a case against the accused under the NDPS Act and arrested him. Police station in-charge Awadhesh Singh Bhadoria, SI Amit Bhadoria, Vivek Sharma, Head Constable Praveen Thakur, Constable Ajay Tiwari, Ashish Verma and Akash Srivastava have played a commendable role in arresting the accused.

Father-in-law assaults woman
In Bairasia area, a woman was beaten up by her father-in-law and his companion while making obscene gestures. Police have registered a case and started investigation. According to the information, a 43-year-old woman living in Bairasia area currently lives in Bhopal with her husband. There is a dispute going on between the woman’s husband and father-in-law regarding ancestral property. On Wednesday, the father-in-law had called his son and daughter-in-law for a talk.
The woman and her husband had reached the farm. During this time, when the woman reached another farm, her father-in-law and a young man accompanying him started abusing her. When the woman protested, both of them started doing obscene acts and beat her. The police have registered a case against the accused. Here, Nishatpura police has registered a case against Avadhnarain under various sections including molestation on the report of a 29-year-old woman living in the area. The accused was harassing the woman by following her for the last several days. When the victim protested, the accused abused and threatened her. The police is investigating the matter.

Youth dies after eating poisonous substance
A youth living in Misrod area ate some poisonous substance. He was taken to a private hospital for treatment, where he died. The police registered a case and after conducting the post-mortem of the body, handed over the body to the family. According to the information, Jaisingh Rajput (29) lived in village Ratanpur Misrod and worked in Best Price. On Wednesday afternoon at around 2:30, Jaisingh was lying some distance away from his house. Foam was coming out of his mouth. After getting the information, the family members reached the spot and took him to a nearby private hospital for treatment, where he died after some time. Police say that the reason for consuming poison will be revealed only after the statement of the family members.
