Over 10,000 people dedicate a sapling to their mother as first Guru

  • Dy CM plants a sapling in the name of Rev. Daaji’s mother

Bhopal: On the auspicious occasion of Guru Poornima today, Forests by Heartfulness launched an afforestation project named “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” at village Kherwa Saani, Amdara, District Maihar of Madhya Pradesh. The project was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla along with local MLA Shrikant Chaturvedi, Collector of Maihar district, Superintendent of Police, District Forest Officer and 10,000 villagers who gathered there for this momentous occasion.

Each tree was being planted in reverence of one’s mother who is regarded one’s first Guru. The first tree planted by Dy CM is in the name of respected Baa, Shantaben, mother of Rev Daaji – Guide of Heartfulness and President of Ram Chandra Mission. The project also sets the tone for yet another 4 lakh plus tree plantation drive over more than 2000 acres in Satna over the next two years in a bid to rejuvenate the ecosystem.

‘Planting a sapling is the noblest Guru Dakshina’

Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla said, “It is an auspicious time to celebrate the wisdom imparted by our Gurus and their influence on us. The first Guru in anybody’s life is always the mother. Guru Purnima is also an opportune time to show our gratitude to all our Gurus beginning with our very mother by planting a sapling as the noblest Guru Dakshina we can offer to the Guru. Under the keen guidance of Pujya Daaji the Heartfulness movement has come a long way touching millions of lives, transforming the ecosystem and bringing positive change. As a Guru he is illuminating our minds and souls. As we offer our humble pranams to him, we are also showing reverence to his mother Shantaben by planting a sapling in her in her name as well.”

Rev. Daaji – Guide of Heartfulness and President of Ram Chandra Mission added, “Guru Purnima is a day dedicated to honoring and expressing gratitude to our spiritual teachers, or Gurus, who guide us on the path of wisdom and enlightenment. It is a day to pay homage to those who impart spiritual knowledge and help dispel the darkness of ignorance. Ancient gurus like Ved Vyasa, Lord Buddha, or Babuji Maharaj of Shahjahanpur exemplified such profound spiritual capabilities. Each plant is symbolic of positivity and spiritual transformation. On this occasion it is heart-warming to see the Govt. of Madhya Pradesh joining hands with us for reviving the ecosystem, with the numbers of participants planting a sapling dedicated to one’s Mother – the first Guru – as a reflection of gratitude.”
