Bhopal: The stage was lit up with electrifying enthusiasm and scintillating performances at the grand finale of “Dance with Rising Stars” held at Albert Ekka Auditorium, Kolkata for the children of defense personnel of Eastern Command in association with Canara HSBC Life Insurance. On this occasion, Chief Guest Lieutenant General RC Srikant, Chief of Staff, Headquarters Eastern Command, and Smt. Ashima Srikant, Regional Vice President AWWA, Eastern Command graced the event and awarded the talented participants.
In the “Little Star” category, Miss Palakshi Mehta won the top position with a stellar presentation, and Miss Arushi Barman and Miss M Valentina Chanu secured the second and third positions.
Miss Komalpreet Kaur with tremendous performance won the first position in the “Talent Teens” category, followed by Miss Analia B Joseph in second position and Miss Shambhavi Bahuguna in third position.
The judges on the occasion included renowned dance influencer Lavanya Ghosh and renowned instructor Moushumi Chatterjee, an expert in Bharatanatyam, to judge the talented participants and appreciate their stellar performances. When Palakshi Mehta presented the dance in Bharatnatyam style, the audience present in the auditorium was mesmerized and applauded the beautiful presentation continuously and praised the unprecedented performance. The presentation by Palakshi Mehta, daughter of Colonel Gulshan Mehta and Major Jaya Mehta, was said to be unprecedented in understanding the nuances of the traditional style of Bharat Natyam dance at a young age.
About 6000 artists were registered for this competition. The first round of screening was held on 4 September 2024, semi-final events were held at different locations in the East Zone from 25 September to 30 September and virtual mentoring of the finalists was conducted from 6 October to 14 October. This grand event took place on 27 March at Albert Ekka Auditorium, Kolkata. Chief guest Lieutenant General RC Srikant and Mrs. Ashima Srikant congratulated all the winners and gave awards and best wishes for their bright future.
