- Pilgrimage by train to sites like Kashi, Ayodhya, Dwarka, Rameswaram
Bhopal: The upcoming schedule of the Madhya Pradesh government’s “Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan” scheme has been released. From September 14 to February 26, 2025, senior citizens of the state will be taken on a religious tour to various cities. This time, religious places like Varanasi (Kashi), Rameswaram, Mathura-Vrindavan, Kamakhya, Amritsar, Ayodhya, Dwarka, Jagannathpuri, Shirdi and Nagpur have been determined for the citizens in the Teerth Darshan scheme by the Religious Trust and Religious Affairs Department. More than 15 thousand pilgrims will visit various pilgrimage sites during the said period. Senior citizens of the state who are not income tax payers and are 60 years or above will be able to avail the benefits of the scheme. In the case of female pilgrims, a relaxation of 2 years has been given in the age group.
First train from Ujjain
The first train under Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana will depart from Ujjain for Varanasi (Kashi)- Ayodhya on 14 September. 300 pilgrims from Ujjain district, 200 from Sehore and 279 from Vidisha will travel in it. This train will return on 19 September. The second train will depart for Rameswaram on 21 September. 300 pilgrims from Indore, 200 from Ujjain and 279 from Sehore will travel in it. This train will return on 26 September. The third train will depart from Meghnagar on 19 September for Mathura-Vrindavan Teerth and will return on 2 October. 200 pilgrims from Jhabua, 279 from Ratlam and 300 from Ujjain will travel in it. The fourth train for Teerth Darshan will depart from Ujjain on 13 October for Kamakhya Teerth Darshan. 300 pilgrims from Ujjain, 200 from Shajapur and 279 from Sehore will travel in it. This train will return on 18 October.
