New Delhi, Nov 10 (UNI) Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will visit the US city of San Francisco November 13-16 to attend meetings and ministerial programmes of countries associated with the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) and Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), the government said on Friday.
A release issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry said during the visit, Goyal will interact with US officials, academicians, industry leaders to further strengthen the economic and commercial ties between the two countries.
Goyal will participate in the 3rd Individual IPEF Ministerial Meeting on nov 13 and 14 to review the progress of the negotiations.
He will also hold bilateral meetings with the US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, trade negotiation representatives and ministers of other IPEF participating countries on the sidelines of the bloc’s Ministerial Meeting.
Goyal will represent India at the IPEF Leaders Meeting and Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment (PGII) as also the IPEF Investor Forum meeting on November 16. He will also represent India at the APEC Economic Zone Representatives’ Meeting during November 15-16.
India has been invited as a guest economy at the 30th meeting of APEC economic leaders.
During the visit, Gayel will hold bilateral meetings with the US Commerce Secretary, Trade Representative Katherine Tai and representatives of various sectors and industries.
The meetings will focus on removing trade barriers, promoting investment and promoting greater cooperation in areas such as technology and innovation.
