- Stray cattle sitting on road becoming reason for accidents
Kavita Rathore, Bhopal
Cattle sitting on the road has been a big problem in the capital for a long time. The Municipal Corporation has made plans to make the city a cattle free zone many times, many orders were also issued in the past, but all these plans and orders have remained limited to papers only.
Because, there is no decrease in the number of cattle sitting on the road. These days, these cattle are seen causing more trouble among the Ganesh Pandals built on the roadside.
These animals are often seen sitting in the middle of the road. Due to which drivers face trouble every day. Instead of decreasing, the number of cattle in Bhopal is increasing day by day. Due to which accidents and mishaps are also increasing on the roads. Whenever you go out on the road in your vehicle or on foot, you must have seen a herd of cattle sitting on the road at various places. Many times the driver gets tired of blowing the horn, but these animals do not move from the road. Many times the drivers have to get down and move them to the side of the road. In such a situation, many times due to darkness at night, these animals sitting on the road are not visible and the vehicle collides with them.
Under the plan to make the city a cattle free zone recently, only a formality was done and a few cattle were caught. Apart from them, the remaining thousands of cattle are sitting on the road even in the rain and causing accidents.
Cattle camp increasing in these areas
Instead of a decrease in the number of cattle in Bhopal, they are increasing. They are not limited to one place in the city but are seen at different places and main roads of the capital like Bus Stand, Petrol Pump, Sabzi Mandi, Police Station premises, Kumhar Mohalla, Gandhi Nagar, Azad Nagar, Ayodhya Bypass area, areas of old Bhopal, Anand Nagar, Bairagarh Side, Kokta Bypass, Arera Colony, Saket Nagar, Misrod, MP Nagar, New Market, Hoshangabad Road, Kolar are included. Not only this, in many of these areas, along with cows sitting on the roads, the terror of stray dogs is also increasing. The surprising thing is that, even after the orders have been issued many times, there has been no reduction in their number. Last month, a young man also lost his life after colliding with an animal. Now the question arises, who are these senior officials and public representatives waiting for. Do they not face such problems while going out on the roads and if they do, do they turn a blind eye?
The attention of the Municipal Corporation is towards this. Campaigns have been run by the Municipal Corporation earlier also to remove cattle from the road. They were caught some days ago, but people get their animals free and take them away and then they are seen on the roads.
