New Delhi, Nov 9 (UNI) Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi on Saturday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for misleading the country by calling its public welfare schemes as ‘free revdi’ and challenged him to visit Karnataka, Telangana and Himachal Pradesh and see how these guarantees have been fulfilled.
Moreover, Gandhi said that INDIA bloc will also bring in big changes in Maharashtra with its five guarantees and it will free every section of the state from the labyrinth of injustice and provide them a way to live with self-respect.
“In July 2022, PM Modi misled the country by calling Congress’s public welfare schemes ‘free revdi’,” the former Congress president said in a post on X.
“Yet they are campaigning in every state and the country by pasting their slips on the guarantees given by the Congress – and then levelling false allegations against the Congress for not fulfilling its promises,” Gandhi alleged.
Challenging the Prime Minister Gandhi said, “Modiji, our challenge is, come to Karnataka, roam around and see, investigate – we have fulfilled every promise. Congress’ schemes in Karnataka have changed the fate of crores of women, youth, farmers and the poor. We have also fulfilled promises in Telangana and Himachal. And now in Maharashtra too, INDIA is going to bring big changes with its 5 guarantees”.
He also mentioned about the five guarantees which includes Rs 3,000 per month and free bus service to women under the Mahalakshmi Scheme; caste-based census and removing 50 percent cap on reservation; Rs 25 lakh health insurance and free medicine; loan waiver of up to Rs 3 lakh and Rs 50,000 incentive on regular repayment and Rs 4,000 per month assistance to unemployed youth.
He said, “These schemes will give people the strength to fight BJP-induced inflation and unemployment, their standard of living will improve and their access to good education and nutrition will increase.
“I am saying this with so much confidence because it is tried and tested. Today 1.21 crore women in Karnataka are benefiting from Congress’s Mahalakshmi scheme,” the Raebareli Member of Parliament said.
