Police investigates auto driver’s involvement in dragged to death

Bhopal: The police in Bhopal are taking a serious stance on criminal incidents and accidents. Just four days ago, a tragic incident occurred in the Ashoka Garden area when a dispute over applying colors escalated, leading to a young man’s death. The driver of a loading auto dragged the victim for 200 meters, resulting in his death on the spot. The Ashoka Garden police have now identified the auto driver responsible for the incident after thorough investigation.

Authorities are planning further legal action against the careless auto driver, with additional charges likely to be added. Ashoka Garden Police Station Chief Hemant Srivastava stated that the tragic event took place on March 14, around 3:45 PM, during a playful color-throwing session. The 27-year-old victim, Shailendra Singh, had a heated argument with the loading auto driver. In a fit of anger, the driver accelerated the vehicle, causing Shailendra to be struck and dragged for nearly 200 meters, resulting in his death.

The police investigation is nearly complete, and the accused, Rahul Lodhi, the auto driver of MP 04C 4334, is expected to be presented in court in the next couple of days. The incident, which stemmed from a dispute over applying colors, caused widespread shock and distress in the neighborhood. Further legal steps are underway to ensure justice for the victim.
