Bhopal: CM Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized on plans to enhance the beauty of ponds located within the state’s urban areas, with a vision to develop them as prominent tourist destinations. Along with beautification of lakes and ponds, selected lakes and ponds will be conserved and surface drinking water sources will be created to develop them as tourist destinations. So far, work on 28 ponds has been completed, and work on the remaining 20 ponds is in progress.
The works for the conservation of ponds and lakes that have been selected by the urban bodies mainly include works related to preventing land erosion, making boundaries around lakes and ponds, intensive plantation of trees, developing lawns, and installation of lamps and fountains for beautification.
