- Housing Commissioner writes letter to government
- Congress raises issue by tweeting investigation report
- Irregularities exposed
Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal
In Madhya Pradesh, Congress has once again accused the state government of 50 percent commission.
Kamal Nath’s media advisor Piyush Babile has raised the issue of poor construction by tweeting the investigation report of the Resident Commissioner regarding irregularities in the newly constructed MP Bhavan in New Delhi.
Resident Commissioner Pankaj Rag has written this letter to the Principal Secretary, PWD, in which it has come to light that the prescribed parameters have not been taken into account in the construction of MP Bhawan. After this letter, the government has formed an inquiry committee.
When asked, it is informed that this provision was not made in 18 MS. Even the technical advisor and other officials of Madhya Pradesh Bhawan have not given any satisfactory answer in this regard. This makes it clear that the supervision of the construction by NBCC was neither done properly during the construction nor after that, before handing over, it seems extremely difficult to accept that where such serious deficiencies were found in the newly constructed Madhya Pradesh Bhawan by a non-technical officer employee of another Madhya Pradesh Bhawan, at the same time, everything was found fine by the technical and subject expert officers/employees of the nodal company like NBCC. Therefore, before taking over the newly constructed Madhya Pradesh building, it has become necessary to obtain a detailed report after inspection from an independent technical expert agency to ensure that the construction of the building has been done according to the prescribed quality and standards and is put to use. All the features, equipment and other materials used were of good brands and of high quality. Kindly, according to the instructions of the Additional Chief Secretary, General Administration Department, it is requested to get the newly constructed Madhya Pradesh building inspected by the team of Public Works Department or any agency subordinate to the Public Works Department and provide a report to this office in the context of the above.
Main points of the letter
1. The fitting of equipment in the rooms did not work as per the prescribed specification.
2. Fittings not of prescribed quality.
3. Seepage in basement pipes, sumpwells.
4. Construction supervision was done negligently.
5. Deliberately concealed deficiencies.
6. It is necessary to get a detailed report after inspection from an independent technical expert agency.
7. Such serious deficiencies were found in the newly constructed building by a non-technical officer employee of Madhya Pradesh Bhavan
