Railway Youth, Kasturba win their matches on Day 2 of Raja Ali Memorial Cricket Tourney

Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal Railway Youth and Kasturba registered victories in the matches played on Thursday on the second day of late Raja Ali Memorial Cricket Tournament. The matches were played at local Babe Ali grounds. In the first match, Railway Youth registered a thumping 266 run victory over St. Xavier Academy. The highlight of the match was a whirlwind unbeaten 106 by Railway Youth’s Sahil, who hit 7 sixes and 11 fours in just 38 balls. Sahil’s brilliant ton helped Railway Youth score 292 runs for the loss of only 3 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Vaibhav also scored 56 runs off 24 balls. St. Xavier’s team was all out for just 25 runs in 10 overs. For Railway Youth, Pradip and Sumit captured four and three wickets respectively. In the second match, Kasturba defeated Fitness Club by seven runs. Batting first, Kasturba scored 175 for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. Aditya scored 55 off 32 balls, while Pawan hit 23 off 14 balls. For Fitness Club, Naman and Avinash captured three and two wickets respectively. Chasing 176 run victory target, Fitness Club was all out for 168 and lost the match by seven runs. For Fitness Club, Piyush scored 68 off 29 balls and Krishna hit 31 off 20 balls. Kasturba’s Azhar captured 3 wickets. Man of the Match award went to Railway’s Sahil and Kasturba’s Azhar. Sports promoter Arun Gupta gave the awards.
