ASHA, USHA, anganwadi workers stage demo, submit memo


Bhopal: On the joint call of national federations related to all central labor organizations of the country, the anganwadi and ASHA, USHA workers submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister on the demands including raising the minimum wage to Rs 21,000, providing benefits of provident fund and ESI. The demands of the strike also include the demand to stop the privatization of government departments and public industries including ICDS, National Health Mission, Mid Day Meal.
On the call of Anganwadi Workers and Sahayika Ekta Union (CITU) in Madhya Pradesh, Anganwadi workers and assistants working in the Department of Women and Child Development staged a strike in more than 35 districts including all the divisional headquarters including the state capital Bhopal. In Bhopal, a dharna was staged in Neelam Park and a memorandum was submitted. On the call of Asha Usha Asha Sahayak Ekta Union (CITU) and United Front, Asha Usha Asha supervisors working in National Health Mission went on strike in 26 districts and presented a memorandum.
