Amity showcases its path-breaking researches and innovations at MANIT

Bhopal: Eminent Amity Scientists, Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Deputy Director General, Amity Foundation for Science Technology and Innovation Alliance and Dr. Tanu Jindal, Additional Pro Vice Chancellor, R&D, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, along with other accomplished Scientists and Ph.D. Scholars from Amity University Haryana and Amity University Madhya Pradesh, participated in the 8th India International Science Festival, organized at MANIT, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, from 21st-24th January 2023, where Amity showcased its path-breaking researches and innovations. The Festival with the theme “Marching Towards Amrit Kaal with Science, Technology and Innovation”, was inaugurated by Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Honourable Chief Minister, Madhya Pradesh and Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of S&T and Earth Sciences. 
Amity showcased its recent developments in Research and Innovation, Patent Filing and Technology Transfers, during the India International Festival-2022, through Amity’s stall which witnessed a footfall of more than two thousand on the first day of the four-day Science Festival. Over 40 researches and innovations by Amity Scientists are on display at the India International Science Festival-2022, including HNB9 Formulation – A novel Phosphate Solubilizing Fungal Biofertilizer developed by Dr. Amit Kharkwal, Rootonic developed by Prof. Ajit Varma, Portable Water Purifier by Dr. V.K. Jain & team, Biopepticide Formulation by Dr. Nutan Kaushik and Herbal Remedy for Psoriasis by Dr. Nimisha Srivastava, amongst other innovations. 
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Deputy Director General, Amity Foundation for Science Technology and Innovation Alliance, said, “The Indian Intellectual Property Office under the Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India, has recognized Amity’s extraordinary achievements in the area of research and innovation by selecting Amity University for National Intellectual Property Award-2020, recognizing Amity University as “Top Indian Academic Institution for Patents & Commercialization.” 
Highlighting the Research and Innovation initiatives of Amity, Dr. Tanu Jindal, Additional Pro Vice Chancellor, R&D, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, stated, “Amity University has been credited filing of more than 1800 patents, in the areas of Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, BioSensores, Microbiology, etc. Amity has undertaken over 500 funded projects out of which 350+projects are currently ongoing and more than 20 technologies have been transferred for industrialization.” 
Expressing extreme pleasure on this occasion, Dr Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Education Group, stated, “It is a matter of immense pride and pleasure for Amity that Amity Scientists are participating in the highly prestigious Science Festival. Amity.” 
The exemplary research work of Amity faculty has been recognized at various National International platforms where they were bestowed with noteworthy awards and fellowships, some of the notable awards being INSA Young Scientists Medal, NASI Young Scientist Platinum Jubilee, Award 20211, ICMR Shakuntala Amir Chand Award, amongst others.
