Athlete Manju Yadav bags silver for state

esh State Athletics Academy, grabbed a silver medal for the state on the conclusion day of the 19th National Federation Cup Junior Athletics Championship held at Sangrur, Punjab on Monday. Manju won this medal in the 3,000 metre steeple chase event. Prior to this achievement, the players of the state Academy have brought honor to Madhya Pradesh by winning three bronze medals. Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia has congratulated the silver medalist on this acquisition. Manju touched the finishing line within 11 minutes 53.80 seconds under the 3000 metre steeplechase event (water hurdles race) held on the last day of the competition and laid her hands on the silver medal. The player representing Maharashtra surpassed Manju to finish at the first place, whereas the player representing Punjab finished third at the event. Seven players, including four boys and three girls from Madhya Pradesh Athletics Academy, participated in the competition under the guidance of the academy's chief coaches S K Prasad, Virender Kumar and Ghanshyam Yadav.
