Burhanpur, Mar 3 (UNI) BJP MP and former state party president Nand Kumar Singh Chauhan was cremated in Shahpur in Madhya Pradesh's Burhanpur district on Wednesday.
His son Harsh lit the funeral pyre.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan shouldered Chauhan's bier.
Assembly Speaker Girish Gautam, Union Ministers Narendra Singh Tomar, Thaawar Chand Gehlot, Rajya Sabha MP Jyotiraditya Scindia, BJP state president Vishnudat Sharma, state ministers Vijay Shah, Kamal Patel, Tulsiram Sinlavat, Mohan Yadav and Arvind Singh Bhadoria were also present on the occasion.
The 69-year-old leader passed away at a hospital in Delhi on Tuesday.
His body was brought to Bhopal last evening by special plane and kept at party's state headquarters for paying last respects to the leader.
The Chief Minister, State President Vishnudutt Sharma, Assembly Speaker Girish Gautam, State In-Charge Muralidhar Rao, former Chief Minister Kamal Nath, State Organisation General Secretary Suhas Bhagat, State Co-organisation General Secretary Hitanand and other party leaders and workers paid tributes to the leader.
