Ban on immersion of idols at public places

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that it is essential to prevent spread of corona infection that ensuing Ganesh Utsav and other festivals should be celebrated at home itself. He appealed people that all corona related precautions should be followed necessarily like wearing masks, maintaining social distancing etc. He further mentioned that installation of idols at public places, taziya procession etc. are totally prohibited. 

For protection from corona infection, immersion of idols installed at homes, at public places will also be prohibited. ‘Collection Points’ in each ward/area will be made, where Ganesh idols will be collected with due respect and piousness. Later, the local bodies will carry the idols to immerse them at the places of immersion. In this context, Chief Minister Chouhan directed the Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains for issuing detailed guidelines to districts. 

Chief Minister Chouhan was reviewing the situation of corona in the state and arrangements at Mantralaya through video conferencing. Minister for Medical Education Vishwas Sarang participated in the meeting through video conferencing. Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, DGP Vivek Johri, Additional Chief Secretary Health Mohammad Suleman and other officers were present at the meeting.
