Bihar recorded voter turnout of 52.24 pc till 1700 hrs in Ph-1: CEC


New Delhi, Oct 28 (UNI) Voter turnout of 52.24 per cent was recorded till 1700 hrs in the first phase of Bihar Assembly polls, Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora said on Wednesday.

In his opening remarks at a virtual press conference here, the CEC said, ' Voter turnout in the first phase of Bihar Assembly elections in 2015 was 54.94 per cent.'

The CEC said in the Lok Sabha elections in 2019, the voter turnout in first phase was 53.54 per cent.

Voting for 71 seats in the first phase of Assembly elections in Bihar was held on Wednesday, amid enforcement of COVID-related protocols.
