Bikru case: Viral letter hints at Vikas Dubey's nexus with police, probe on

Kanpur, (UNI)

Many senior police officials have now come under a cloud of suspicion after a letter believed to have been written by Circle Officer Devendra Mishra, who was martyred in the attack by history-sheeter Vikas Dubey and his aides in Bilhaur four days ago, went viral on social media.

Though authenticity of the letter is yet to be established, it hinted at Dubey and police nexus.

Giving a clarification on this matter late Monday night, SSP Dinesh Kumar Prabhu had said that there is no entry of the letter which is going viral on social media but even so, the matter will be probed. The computer from the office of CO Bilhaur was seized on Tuesday in this connection.

Police sources said that several police officials reached the Bilhaur CO office in plain clothes. The computer and postal register of the office were taken into possession and the complete details of the CO's CUG and personal mobile are being gathered.

The STF and other officials investigating the case have been at the police station since four days to probe the role of Chaubeypur's former SHO Vinay Tiwari and other old matters and Vinay Tiwari's diary has also been taken into possession.

On the other hand, IG Lakshmi Singh has reached Kanpur's CO Bilhaur office. During this time, she is conversing with each individual of the police staff one by one while probing the matter in detail. Movement in the office has been prohibited.

Even as journalists tried to talk to IG Lakshmi Singh about the incident, she said that the investigation is underway.

New details are emerging every day in the Bikru case wherein the police have also come in the radar while the senior officers do not want to leave any stone unturned to probe the matter.
