Bimlesh will add more life to Happu Ki Ultan Paltan”, says Sapna Sikarwar on joining the &TV show

Adding fun and frolic to the show, Sapna Sikarwar is entering &TV’s Happu Ki Ultan Paltan as Bimlesh. The actor in a candid conversation talks about what makes her role unique and how her relationship with the cast unfurls on camera and behind it.
You are playing the most awaited character, Bimlesh, in Happu Ki Ultan Paltan. What is your take on it?
The fact that people are familiar with the character but have never met or seen her makes Bimlesh an exciting entry in the show. However, I have to ensure that I meet the expectations of the viewers. Bimlesh will add more life to Happu Ki Ultan Paltan. She is a chirpy girl with an amazing sense of humour. While Bimlesh is aware that Beni is crazily in love with her, it was interesting to watch her reaction when she sees him for the first time. Joining a gharelu comedy show such as Happu Ki Ultan Paltan meant bringing my comical talents to the fore and I agreed to be a part of it instantly. I hope people do like my portrayal of Bimlesh and enjoy her chemistry with Beni and Happu’s family.
Tell us about your on-screen chemistry with Beni (Vishwanath Chattejee)
We have an unbeatable chemistry; it is like we were made for each other. Even our character’s initials are the same! Bimlesh and Beni sounds like a perfect match, doesn’t it? They love each other unconditionally and even when they argue, they do it out of love. The two have spent a considerable time away from each other making their reunion a grand occasion. As an actor, Vishwanath ji is a wonderful person and we have been spending a lot of time running through our lines and during breaks.
Please elaborate on your look in the show?
Bimlesh’s personality of a chirpy and jovial person will be reflected in the way she looks and dresses. The Punjabi chuda and sindoor is a must for Bimlesh irrespective of her attire; she enjoys donning these items. Bimlesh is fond of makeup and so am I in real-life. So I try to do my own makeup as a way to incorporate Sapna in Bimlesh.
Bimlesh versus Dabang Rajesh! Between the two sisters, what are the similarities and differences?
The two have a precious bond just like other siblings. Their sisterhood was built on intangible love, endless fights, and lots of fun. Now that they are adults, their personalities are vividly different. While Rajesh (Kamna Pathak) is seen as a more docile and mature woman, Bimlesh is the spontaneous and erratic one. Their nature is where one can draw the line. But just like any elder sister, Rajesh is very nurturing of Bimlesh and is always making her understand things that she does not on her own.
In the show &TV’s Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, Beni and Bimlesh’s relationship is one-sided. What is your take on that?
I believe one-sided love can be the strongest love there can be. There is no bound to their love. Beni has been head over heels for Bimlesh since the day he first heard her voice. He would always find an excuse to talk to her and he would dream of marrying her one day and now his dream is coming true. It is a beautiful bond that the two have and it is always entertaining to see the struggles a couple goes through before reaching their happy ending.
Are you overwhelmed to be playing a role that has only been heard before and never seen?
Well, I did feel a certain sense of responsibility when I took on the role of Bimlesh. I knew it was not going to be a small part in a big show. Bimlesh’s storyline started long before she was even present and to take that and compliment it with my performance is something I was looking forward to. Every role comes with its own set of challenges and I am excited to be seen as Bimlesh in the show.
