'Health ATM' installed in Kerala

Kochi, Jan 11 (UNI) A 'Health ATM' has been installed at Ernakulam General Hospital on a pilot basis as part of building 'Digital Healthcare' infrastructure for the hospitals in Kerala.

The Health ATM facilitates automated health screening, basic diagnostic tests, video-conferencing with doctor and instant health report and prescription, sources said on Tuesday.

Health ATM is an ‘ATM for Healthcare’ wherein all basic and primary healthcare services can be delivered in an ATM-like concept, targeting communities who don’t have access to a hospital or doctor.

For the first time, such a facility was installed in Ernakulam General Hospital a few days ago by the Cochin Smart Mission Limited (CSML), formed for the sole purpose of implementation of the smart city mission at the city level here.

Health ATM can screen people, capture health parameters and do basic diagnostic tests, all with a “human touch.”

The vision of CSML is to transform Kochi into an inclusive, vibrant city of opportunities with efficient urban services, sustainable growth and ease of living.
