It was our ploy to expose deal b/w BJP & BSP in RS polls: Akhilesh Yadav

Lucknow, Oct 31 (UNI) Fielding a party supported Independent candidate in the Uttar Pradesh Rajya Sabha polls was a ploy to expose the under table deal between the BJP and the BSP, claimed Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav here on Saturday.

Mr Yadav had on the last moment fielded one Prakash Bajaj in the Rajya Sabha polls leading the revolt in the BSP and 5 of their MLAs refused to support their official candidate Ramjee Gautam.

But later due to some technical flaw, the nomination papers of Bajaj was rejected and there were no election in the RS polls.

" We just want to expose before the people that both the BJP and BSP had joined hands to win a seat in the Rajya Sabha. The SP MLAs, who supported Bajaj were of socialist background and they too want to know the real fact," he told reporters here on Saturday. The SP president was attending a programme on the death anniversary of Acharya Narendra Dev.

Mr Yadav said now it has been established that BSP is the Team B of BJP in UP and now the people of the state have known their real face.

"Those people who quietly aligned with each other is dangerous in the politics and such forces should be identified.We want that people should know who they are voting for in the elections," SP president said.

Attacking the BJP, Mr Yadav said BJP had joined hands with anyone for remaining in power while alleged that now the BSP has no words to prove that they are not with the BJP.

Talking about the sacrifices made by Sardar Patel and Acharya Narendra Dev, he said now the country was facing a tough time when there is rise in unemployment and farmers are fighting to get MSP of their produce." We have to take a pledge to develop the country with taking support of everyone ," he said.

The SP president questioned the BJP about the cleanness of holy Ganga river and also of the cleaning of Gomti river. " They just tried to create a myth but did nothing," he alleged.He also blamed the UP government of not providing adequate treatment to the Covid patients and have decreased the sample testing. He also said the Lucknow Metro has not moved an inch from the project which was launched by his government.
