The results of the Union Public Service Commission's main examination were declared today. In this prestigious competitive examination, Jagriti Awasthi of the capital has secured first place in the women's category and second in the country.
She was posted as an engineer in BHEL, but decided to leave the job and prepare for UPSC. Jagriti said that she decided that she would leave engineering and prepare for this exam with concentration. She has become the topper of the women's category. Jagriti believes that it was not possible to do some remarkable work for the society in the field of engineering, so chose the path of public service.
She says that she wants to bring such a change in the society so that whenever she reaches some point after thirty-forty years, people will say that she has made a big change in the society. Jagriti, the daughter of a homeopathic doctor, residing in Shivaji Nagar, Bhopal, started serving in Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) in 2017 after taking her electrical engineering degree from MANIT. Even after working for two years, she did not like engineering. For the first time in June 2019, she tried her luck in the UPSC examination, although she did not get success but the intentions were strong.
Jagriti credits her success to her brother Dr. Suyash Awasthi along with her parents. Suyash, who has done MBBS, gave Jagriti the courage to leave the job of BHEL and supported her all the time in the preparation of UPSC. Jagriti told that from July 2019, I started preparing and prepared with full dedication for one year. This is the secret of my preparation, due to which I have secured second position in the country.
Jagriti told that she wants to work in the field of rural development, women empowerment and children's development, that is why she chose this path even after both father and brother were doctors. Jagriti's father Dr. Suresh Chand Awasthi is a professor in the Government Homeopathy College. He told that Jagriti has been a topper in studies from the very beginning. He is originally a resident of Nasiya village in Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh.
Gets success in second attempt
Jagriti said that this was my second attempt, I could not qualify in the first attempt, but my mother encouraged me and succeeded in the second attempt. I have applied for Madhya Pradesh cadre. Apart from this, the second preference is Uttar Pradesh. Jagriti told that hard work is necessary for success and one should never give up hope.
 Chose sociology in mains
Jagriti said that when I used to see workers and women working while going out on the way, then the desire to do something for the society arose in my mind, thinking here I decided to become an IAS. I was interested in society, so I chose sociology in the main exam. In sociology we find all kinds of figures of things around us, women, children and backward people.
