MP floor test: Apex court hearing continues


New Delhi,The Supreme Court is considering Bharatiya Janata Party petitions, including one filed by Shivraj Singh Chouhan, seeking an immediate floor test in the state of Madhya Pradesh, where the Kamal Nath dispensation is reported to have lost its majority in the 230-member Legislative Assembly after the exit of Gwalior royal Jyotiraditya Scindia from the ranks of Indian National Congress.A bench, headed by Justice D Y Chandrachud, is hearing arguments and submissions from Dr Abhishek Manu Singhvi for state speaker and Mukul Rohatgi, for BJP and senior advocate Dushyant Dave, for INC.Picking up from Wednesday, Dr Singhvi continued, asserting that the intention seems to be that before the Speaker can to anything, lets just chant “floor test!”Justice Chandrachud, said, 'How do you deal with circumstances when the Speaker doesn't take a decision? Apprehension expressed from both sides, what if they appear before Speaker through video conferencing, are you willing to take a decision? '
