Invites Film industry for film shooting in the state

Bhopal -For film production in Madhya Pradesh, the environment is cordial for the film industry. I have shot 5 films in Madhya Pradesh and have found Madhya Pradesh to be the friendliest state in the country. Actor Shri Anupam Kher said this at the ongoing 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board is participating in the film festival organized in Goa. Principal Secretary Tourism and Culture and Managing Director Tourism Board Shri Sheo Shekhar Shukla said that the government will authorize filmmakers to make films in the state within 15 days. He also invited the stakeholders associated with the film industry for shooting in the state. Principal Secretary Shri Shukla was apprising in a conference organized to make people associated with the film industry aware of the facilities being provided in the state. Film stars like Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Pankaj Tripathi, Raghuveer Yadav, Faizal Malik, Vani Tripathi were gracefully present in it.

Famous actor Anupam Kher said that Madhya Pradesh really deserves the Film Friendly State Award. Utmost and imperitive support is provided by the state government for film production in the state. He said that 5 films have been shot in the state. Have rarely seen such film friendly states, where there is a lot of help even at the government level. The film policy of the state is quite simple. I hope that Madhya Pradesh gets this honour every year.

Principal Secretary Shri Shukla particularized on the possibilities of film shooting in the state, attractive locations and key points of film tourism policy. He informed about grant to producers, permission under Public Service Guarantee Act within 15 days, natural beauty of the state along with online single window system for shooting permission.

Principal Secretary Shri Shukla apprised about encouraged private investment, skill development and employment generation through film shooting in the state, financial grant for shooting of film/serial/show/web-series/documentary, special financial incentives for international filmmakers and South Indian filmmakers. On this occasion, Additional Managing Director Tourism Board Mr. Vivek Kshotriya and Deputy Director (Films) Mr. Yuvraj Padole were also present.

Highlights of Madhya Pradesh Film Policy

Madhya Pradesh is the only state in the country, which has included the permissions of projects in the Public Service Guarantee Act. There is a provision under the Act to provide permission for shooting of a film in 15 working days. To implement the film tourism policy at the district level, an ADM level officer has been appointed as the nodal officer for permission in each district.

Grants given under the film policy include web series, OTT original content, TV serials and documentaries.

Single window clearance facility is available for all filming permissions in the state.

Under the film policy, there is a provision of additional financial grant for the local artists of the state as well as exemption for the film crew staying in hotels and resorts of the tourism department.

There is a provision of reserved land for promoting private investment for the development of film industry in the state and setting up film cities, film studios, skill development centers etc to make Madhya Pradesh a hub of filmmakers.

There is a provision of special incentive on hiring local artists for the purpose of skill development and employment generation through film shooting in the state.
