Malls to be shut, grocery, pharmacy shops to remain open


New Delhi, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday announced that in view of the prevailing situation the malls are being shut down in the national capital.However, the grocery shops, pharmacies , and vegetable shops in the same will continue to function , the Chief Minister added.On Thursday Delhi CM had said that any religious, political , cultural and other gathering having more than 20 persons will not be allowed and appealed people to postpone weddings.He had also announced that the restaurants in the city will not be catering to customers for dine -in, but will only provide for take away and home delivery of food.'Dine-in in all restaurants shall remain closed in Delhi till March 31, but,home deliveries and take away shall continue in view of those who depend on restaurants for their food ', Mr Kejriwal said.

Earlier the CM had announced the closure of gyms , spas, night clubs, cinema halls and other such public gathering places till March 31. Mr Kejriwal on Friday also met all Head of the Departments & Secretaries to discuss the situation and said that all non-essential public dealing activities will also be stopped till March 31.It was decided that only essential public dealing activities will continue, while all non-essential staff are being directed to work from home, Mr Kejriwal added. All permanent and contractual employees will be paid for this period, he said.
