The Bhopal School of Social Sciences celebrated Tourism week from 20 to 27 September 2022. The event was inaugurated by the Principal Dr Fr John PJ with a ribbon cutting and release of the balloons. The observance day was remarked by the prayer dance followed by y Tourism Festaholic event which highlights the diverse folk cultural aspect of India to the students. Vibrant folk dances were performed by the students.
The next event was the Top my cake competition in which Various participants participated to decorate cakes in a professional way through hands-on experience and the development of competency-based skills while emphasizing management and creativity.
Then Flowerettes Arrangement Competition was also organized by the committee. In which the participants showed their creativity in the essentials of flower anatomy and diversity. Principles of flower arrangement were well versed and applied to basic floral design for various occasions. The arrangements showcase the theme through their craftsmanship which was well judged by the judges
Tourism Quizlet was organized to bridge the gap between the Academe and Industry. As part of the capacity-building of human resources, it provides motivation for students to excel in college and foresee the application of his/her academic leanings to the reality of the Industry’s requirements.
In Tourism Exhibiters participants from tourism, streams exhibited a model on Tourism & Hospitality which are the tourist potential in promoting tourism. The Exhibitors showcased working models and non-working models like Singapore fi, international airport, Buji Khalifa, Revolving Hotel, Floating Theater, Dessert Safari, Golf Course, Ice Skiing, Open Theater, Tourist Caravan, Beach of Goa and a rural village of Kerela & Punjab.
Interaction with experts
The Experts talked was from Tourism & Hospitality sector Mr.Rijo Cherian, CEO of RC holidays,Mr. Deepak Singh Chauhan, CEO of Go Anywhere Holidays, Ms. Drashti Saxena, License local Tourist Guide, Tripvicanza, Mr.D P Srivastava Researcher & Nature Educator, Tinsa Ecological Foundation. This interactive session was organized to fulfilling the needs and requirements of industry stakeholders i.e., 4.0, and simultaneously create various job opportunities for the young aspirants which will help in revamping the sector and bounce back to its glory.
On a concluding day, that is 27th of September World Tourism Day 2022 was celebrated with a Mega Halloween Carnival procession with costumes followed by a DJ dance.
