5-day Faculty Development Programme focused on National Education Policy begins

Kerala Governor Shri Arif Mohammad Khan, Higher Education Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Makhanlal Chaturvedi Journalism University Vice Chancellor Prof. KG Suresh inaugurated the five-day faculty development programme focused on 'National Education Policy: Implementation for Quality Education' at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication.
Addressing the FDP, Governor Shri Arif Mohammad Khan said that the objective of the National Education Policy is to make India a super knowledge power in the field of education in the world. This education policy will make the youth more skilled. He said that education has no importance without social responsibility. The National Education Policy is supposed to promote social responsibility within the student.
Higher Education Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that it is an illusion that without English there can be no progress. We should look at many countries of the world including Japan and France, which work in their mother tongue. 
MCU Vice Chancellor Prof. KG Suresh said that it is a matter of happiness for us that Madhya Pradesh is the first state to implement the National Education Policy. He said that we are the first university, which has implemented 7 courses as per the National Education Policy, out of which 5 are media courses. Vice Chancellor Prof Suresh said that we have signed MoUs with other universities to implement the National Education Policy. Now the students of MCU will be able to study the open elective courses of Rajiv Gandhi Technological University in the open elective courses and the students there will be able to study the open elective courses conducted in MCU.
MCU Registrar Prof. Avinash Bajpai said that subject experts from all over the country would be involved in the FDP for five days. On the first day of the FDP, Prof. SS Bhakar, Vice Chancellor, ITM University, Gwalior delivered lecture on the implementation of NEP, ABC and teaching methodology and Prof. Mazhar Asif of JNU on the innovative curriculum and teaching methodology of National Education Policy.
