Tourists enjoying 2.4 Km long track, spot wildlife

Prakriti Path i.e. Nature Trail has been started in Van Vihar National Park from January 15. From 8 am to 11 am, 10 tourists roamed on the package. They can walk on the 2.4 Km long track to reach the barasingha, gharial, crocodile enclosures. At the same time, they can also experience the meadows, termite beds and enclosures. Wildlife experts also gave many information related to animals.
Tourists were given entry from the Cheeku entrance (on the side of the picnic). Through Nature Trail, tourists spotted barasinghas, sambar, deer and other wild animals.

Deputy Director Dr. AK Jain said, the length of the track is 2.4 km. It has 20 spots. The track started from the banks of the big pond at Ramsar site and passed through Bird Interpretation Centre, Butterfly Park, Sarp Bada, Barasinga Bada, Gharial-Crocodile Bada. During this, termite bami, mixed forest, grassland, horns of wild animals, pugmarks, habitats were also seen. 10 tourists participated in the first batch. Environmentalist, Suresh Waghmare also offered extensive information regarding environment and wild animals.
Deputy Director Dr. Jain said, till now the tourists were able to spot wild animals from outside the enclosure nearby the park. But, now they can spot the animals closely through the Natural Trail.
