PM lauds media's role in creating awareness about Coronovirus


New Delhi, As India continues its fight to contain the spread of deadly Novel Corona virus, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday appreciated the role of media in creating awareness about the pandemic in the country.Talking to journalists after BJP Parliamentary party meeting which was held in Parliament House building, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said the Prime Minister has asked the MPs to visit their respective constituencies during the coming weekend and organise awareness programmes on Corona virus.The Prime Minister also asked the MPs to seek help of media to educate people about the disease. He suggested them the Do's and Don’ts related to COVID-19 which should be told to the people.Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan gave a presentation in the party meeting on the measures being taken by the Central government with the help of state governments to tackle the virus.Mr Joshi also told media persons that there was no plan to curtail the ongoing Budget session of Parliament which will go on as per the schedule till April 3.Meanwhile, World Health Organisation (WHO) has lauded the efforts made by India in tackling the outbreak of COVID 19 which has spread across the world. Talking to media persons here on Tuesday, WHO representative to India, Hank Bakedam said, the Indian government's commitment right from the top level including Prime Minister's Office, has been enormous.
Mr Bakedam said there are very good research capacities in India and the country will continue to be part of the research community explore various elements regarding Coronavirus outbreak.
