Param Bir Singh refuses to accept suspension order, threatens to go to court


Mumbai Dec 3 (UNI) Former Police Commissioner of Mumbai Param Bir Singh, who was suspended from the services, refused to accept the suspension order on technical grounds.

According to sources, Singh, who was holding office as Director General Home Guards, has refused to accept suspension order signed by the Director General of Police on the ground that as per seniority, the suspension order should be served to him by the Additional Chief Secretary, Home.

The sourcess added that following this, he has threatened to go to the court against illegal suspension.

The order said, "In exercise of power conferred under the All India Services (Disciple and Appeal) Rules, 1969, the Government of Maharashtra hereby places Param Bir Singh under suspension with immediate effect from the date of this order, until further orders."
