Mumbai, Feb 24 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Wednesday spurted 1030.28 pts to 50,781.69 on the strength of Bankex, Finance, Telecom and Capital Goods stocks.
The Nifty too rose by 274.20 pts to 14,982.00.
Today, the trading was extended till 1700hrs asNSE halted the stock trading after the rates on the exchange stopped updating due to a technical glitch.
The sensex moved up by 12 pts to open at 49,763.94 pts. During the day, it zoomed up nearly 1130 pts to 50,881.17 days high, before closing at 50,781.69, advancing by 1030.28 pts from its previous close.
Meanwhile, it was registered days low at 49,648.78, down 103 pts.
The sensex registered days high and low at 50,881.17 and 49,648.78 pts respectively.
The Nifty recorded days high and low at 15,008.80 and 14,723.05 pts.
The sectoral indices like Bankex, Finance, Telecom, Capital Goods and Energy boosted the same. In scrips, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC and Bajaj Finance lifted the market.
The Mid Cap rose by 0.77 pc and Small Cap by 1.08 pc.
In 30 scrips, 23 advanced while 7 declined.
