Suryakumar, Bumrah help MI beat RCB by 5 wickets


Abu Dhabi, Oct 28 (UNI) Brilliant fifty by Suryakumar Yadav and sensational bowling spell by Jasprit Bumrah helped the defending champions Mumbai Indians beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 5 wickets in the 48th match of the IPL 2020 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium here on Wednesday.

Batting first, Royal Challengers Bangalore posted 164/6 in 20 overs. Devdutt Padikkal was top scorer for RCB with 74 off 45, followed by Josh Philippe who scored 33 off 24.

Pacer Jasprit Bumrah (3/14) was sensational with the ball and did the maximum damage for MI.

In reply, Suryakumar Yadav played a superb knock of 79 not out off 43 balls as Mumbai Indians gunned down a 165-run target with five balls to spare.

With this win, Mumbai Indians became the first team to get to 16 points as the race for the top 4 spot becomes more interesting.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli's RCB stay at the 2nd spot with 14 points but their hopes of finishing in the top 2 have taken a hit.
