Telangana Assy to discuss COVID-19 on Friday


Hyderabad,Telangana Assembly on Thursday decided to take up a short discussion on COVID-19 (Coronavirus) to spread awareness among people about the deadly virus.The government had also agreed to consider a request made by the members during question hour to suspend breath analysis for a month.Health Minister Eatala Rajender confirmed that up till now only one case had tested positive for COVID-19 in the state.Rajender said that as part of the precautionary measures, thermal screening was being carried out on passengers arriving from abroad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad near here.
A state-level coordination committee headed by a nodal officer has been set up for monitoring the health situation in the state he said.The minister also said that a state control room at Hyderabad and '104' call centre was operating as a Corona helpline apart from the isolation wards that have been established in 13 government hospitals in the state.
