Temp below 10 degrees in 22 cities in MP


  • Cold wave continues in Bhopal, Indore; Dhar and Pachmarhi coldest

On Thursday night in MP, the temperature fell below 10 degrees in more than 22 cities including Bhopal, Indore, and Gwalior. The weather pattern will remain the same for the next 3 days. According to the Meteorological Department, it will be the coolest due to the cold wave and dense fog in the next 24 hours.
Dhar and Pachmarhi were the coldest. Dhar recorded 5.5 degrees Celsius whereas Pachmarhi recorded 6 degrees Celsius temperature. Meteorologist Dr. PK Saha said that the weather will remain like this till January 15. This will happen because of western disturbance. There is no chance of rain from the new system.
A Western Disturbance over Jammu (winds from Pakistan) remained trough as a cyclonic activity. Due to this, cyclonic activities remained active over Haryana. Hence many districts of Madhya Pradesh saw heavy rainfall. This system is over now. But with the clearing of the weather, the cold has increased.
Cold wave will prevail in Indore, Dhar, Ratlam, Sagar, Seoni, Betul, Khandwa, Khargone, Shajapur, Ratlam, Ujjain, Datia, Guna and Sheopur Kalan.
Dense fog is expected in Gwalior and Chambal divisions including Shajapur, Ujjain, Ratlam, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Balaghat, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur and Sagar.

Temp dipped by 2 degrees
In many cities of the state, the night temperature dropped by 2 degree Celsius. Talking about the four major cities, the temperature in Gwalior was 6.1 degrees. At the same time, 7.4 degree Celsius was recorded in Indore, 7.7 in Bhopal and 10.5 degree Celsius in Jabalpur.

Severe cold recorded 
On Thursday night temperature was 5.5 degrees in Dhar, 6.0 in Pachmarhi, 6.4 in Sagar, 6.5 in Ratlam, 6.8 in Guna, 7.2 in Tikamgarh, 7.4 in Datia and Khargone, 7.6 in Khajuraho, 7.7 in Shajapur, 8.0 in Ujjain and Rajgarh, Rewa. Damoh and Mandala had 8.6 degrees, 9.0 in Khandwa, 9.5 in Betul whereas 9.6 degree in Satna and Seoni.
