Cabinet meeting: MP first state in country to restore water storage capacity of reservoirs

A meeting of the Council of Ministers was held in Mantralaya today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. In the meeting, while taking a policy decision for the restoration of water storage capacity of the reservoirs of the state, the tender process, base price, criteria of tender eligibility and other conditions were approved. After the amendment of the policy, Madhya Pradesh will be the first state in the country in which tender will be held to remove silt from four reservoirs in the first phase. With this 5 lakh hectare irrigation potential will be restored. The productivity of the land will increase. The life span of dams will increase. Sand can be utilised. Local people will get employment and revenue of about Rs.300 crore will be generated.
94 crores approved for CC TV surveillance system
The cabinet approved the upgradation of CCTV system of 859 police stations already established in the state and installation of new CCTV surveillance system in 258 police stations, 500 police outposts and 42 women police stations and for monitoring at district level in 52 district headquarters and Rs. 66 crore 18 lakh 95 thousand 175 for installation of CCTV control system in SRP offices in the financial year 2021-22 and services of Project Management Consultant in the year 2022-26 and including 5 years warranty / AMC` and other recurring Expenditure amount of Rs.28 crore, thus sanctioned total project cost of Rs.94 crore 18 lakh 95 thousand 175.
Change of land use for solar power project in Chhatarpur
The cabinet gave permission for land use change for setting up of 550 MW capacity solar power project by NTPC or its wholly owned company under Ultra Mega Renewal Energy Power Project mode and CPSU scheme on the land acquired/allocated for thermal power project. MP Power Management Company will have the first right to purchase the solar energy produced from the proposed project at the rate of Rs 2.45 per unit for 25 years.
The cabinet has approved new government ITI under the Department of Technical Education, Skill Development and Employment in the development block Buxwaha of Chhatarpur assembly constituency. As many as 18 crore 43 lakh will be spent for establishment, operation and upgradation of ITI. Approval has been given to create 30 posts for new ITI.
Amendment in the policy of Telecom/Internet Services
Keeping in view the facilities of the citizens in the state, with the aim of promoting telecommunication internet services in the state, the policy-2019 and guidelines 2019 for establishment of telecom infrastructure for telecom internet services prevailing in the state are in force. The Council of Ministers has approved to amend the Policy 2019 and Guidelines-2019 keeping in view the needs of development of telecom/internet services in the present scenario.
