This time the arrangement was the best,I salute farmers and our staff

Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the farmers of the state and the concerned departments deserve to be lauded for record wheat production in the state. In times of crisis like Corona where procurement was a big challenge, the farmers of the state and our machinery have shown that no work is difficult if there is will and dedication to work.

I salute the farmers of the state and our staff. Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing farmers of the state who have sold their wheat on support price, through video conferencing and Facebook Live in Mantralaya today.

He also held discussions with a few farmers and society managers through video conferencing. On this occasion, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Bisahulal Singh, Principal Secretary Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Shiv Shekhar Shukla etc. were present on the occasion.

Record wheat procurement with your support

Chief Minister Chouhan told the farmers that with their support, an all-time record of wheat procurement has been achieved in the state. Madhya Pradesh is number one in the country in wheat procurement. This time wheat procurement was a big challenge. We used plastic bags for purchase due to shortage of gunny bags. The number of procurement centres was increased to more than 4500. Farmers were informed through SMS.

A major problem was the luster-less wheat of farmers. In this connection, the luster-less wheat of the farmers was also purchased with the approval of the Central government. Storage was also a problem due to excess procurement. Government distributed wheat for 3 months in ration. First the small and medium 9 lakh 27 thousand farmers were called to sell wheat. The farmers also maintained discipline and followed all safety measures while selling their wheat on support price and we set a record in the country.

This time there was remarkable purchase

Chief Minister Chouhan spoke to the farmers including Pradeep Singh of Mandsaur district, Virender Singh of Rewa, Doji Ram Jatav of Morena, Sushila ji of Harda, Udham Singh of Sagar, Ramji Singh Rajput of Shahdol, Sheikh Moujjam of Raisen and Bhairav Singh of Alirajpur.

All of them said that this time the system of wheat procurement was remarkable. On receiving information, we went to the procurement centre, in a very short time our wheat was weighed and the biggest thing is that within 7 days we also received payment for our wheat. We have never seen such a good system in our lives.

They heartily thanked Chief Minister Chouhan for this arrangement. Chief Minister Chouhan also spoke to Suresh Kumar Verma, Manager of Sanwalkheda Seva Sahakari Samiti in Hoshangabad district and Ashok Sharma, Manager of Hamidganj Agricultural Credit Cooperative Society of Sehore district through video conferencing.

They told Chief Minister Chouhan that this time procurement was easy with the opening of a large number of sub-centres. This system should be continued. They suggested that godowns should also be built at procurement centres to facilitate storage.
