Treatment of corona infected continued for 254 days

After eight months of treatment at Apollo Hospital in Chennai, Dharamjay Singh, a big farmer of Rewa Mauganj, died of corona virus at the age of 50. The relatives claim that about eight crore rupees have been spent on his treatment. According to the information received from the family, Dharamjay Singh was infected with Corona infection in April 2021. When the condition did not improve, he was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai by air ambulance on 18 May 2021 by relatives, where he was monitored by doctors of London. His treatment continued for about 254 days. During this, the family members had tried to get treatment by taking loans. About Rs 3 lakh was being spent on his treatment every day, but he died late night of last Tuesday during his treatment.
As soon as the information was received, there was a wave of mourning in the entire village. It is believed that in the morning his body will be brought to Rakri village of Mauganj police station. After this, on January 14, the funeral will be done in village Rakri itself, although all the family members have left for Jabalpur.
Dharamjay was known as big farmer: Dharamjay has been considered as a big landowner in his area that is why he was taken to Chennai for treatment. It is said that even after Dharamjays’ illness, the family has been continuously telling about the improvement in his health in their area.
Doctors of the country and abroad did the treatment: According to the family members, Dharamjay Singh was treated in the presence of doctors from the country and abroad. The famous doctors of London used to come to Apollo Hospital to see him. Along with this, doctors of other countries were also being consulted online. ECMO was kept on the machine for eight months only at the behest of the doctors of London. He was completely fine but Dharamjay died on Tuesday night.
What is ECMO machine and how much cost: The relative claims that when the ventilator also fails, then the patient is kept on the ECMO machine. Oxygenation is done by taking out the patient's blood from this machine. Then that blood is sent again inside the body. It is an artificial process in which oxygen can be maintained in the body. This treatment is very expensive. For this, 4 to 5 lakh rupees are needed. 2 lakh per day is needed to continue the treatment.
Shivraj did the honor to give recognition to strawberry cultivation: The family members told that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had honored Dharamjay in a function held at PTS ground on 26 January 2021. Dharamjay Singh had given a unique identity to the cultivation of strawberry and rose in the Vindhya Region. He got infected while serving the people during the Corona period. The relatives claim that Rs 8 crore has been spent in the treatment. The family members had appealed to the state government. After this, financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh was received.
