Tribal Cell should continuously monitor the compliance of PESA Act: Governor Shri Patel



  • Governor issues instructions in the review meeting of Tribal Cell

Bhopal-Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel has said that the tribal cell should continuously monitor the progress and compliance of PESA Act. Proper utilization of the budget should be ensured for the development of tribal areas and people. In the meeting of Tribal Cell, Governor Shri Patel reviewed the activities of PESA Act, Sickle Cell Anemia Eradication Campaign, distribution of milching cattle for special backward tribes, T.B. Free Madhya Pradesh campaign, Kshamadaan, case withdrawal and reviewed the works of sensational crime, scholarship and student housing assistance scheme and Tribal Affairs Department.

Governor Shri Patel said that the PESA Act has been implemented in all the 89 Scheduled Tribe development blocks in the state. He told to ensure that the provisions are followed. Monitoring should be done to ensure that the Gram Sabha is formed in time and the Gram Sabha takes action as per the rules. Moneylenders should not be able to exploit the tribals under any circumstances. Records of migrant laborers should be maintained. Like the central government, the state government should also develop a portal to maintain information about migrant labourers.

The Governor said that all the sickle cell anaemia patients should be treated on priority by cross-verification of the survey data of the disease in Jhabua and Alirajpur. Proper arrangements for medicines and blood transfusion should be made to all the victims on time. Appropriate action should be taken to provide the sickle cell anemia patient with a differently abled certificate. Appropriate steps should also be taken for the treatment of sickle cell anemia with Ayurveda and Homeopathy.

Governor Shri Patel said that every year new villages should be added to the villages adopted by the universities. Along with this, private universities should also be encouraged to voluntarily adopt villages. The data of all the schemes should be uploaded on the portal on time, so that appropriate action can be taken on time. Governor Shri Patel said that the appointment of selected teachers should be done on time.

Governor Shri Patel said that more and more tribal women should be linked to self-help groups. For this, proper arrangements should be made for their training and also marketing of the products. Tribal youth should be imparted skill training on the basis of requirement of their nearby industry complexes, in which they do not have to go far for employment and self-employment.

President Tribal Cell Shri Deepak Khandekar informed about the upcoming priorities of the cell. Principal Secretary to the Governor Shri D.P. Ahuja, Member Secretary of Tribal Cell Shri B.S. Jamod, legal expert Shri. Bhaggu Singh Rawat, subject expert Dr. Deepmala Rawat and legal advisor Shri Vikrant Singh Kumre along with senior officers of various departments were present.
