UP : Congress leaders slam Yogi after Kanpur incident

Lucknow, (UNI) Congress leaders on Friday slammed the Yogi Adityanath government over the killing of eight policemen in Kanpur by the criminals with terming that when police in Uttar Pradesh were not safe then what would be the condition of common people.

They claimed that it is an another example of 'Jungle Raj' in UP under the BJP regime.

Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi in a tweet on Friday said that," the Kanpur incident is another example of Jungle raj in the state. When cops are not safe, then what will be the condition of the common people."

"I pay my condolences to the martyred policemen and hope that the injured policemen recover soon," Mr Gandhi added.

Similarly, Congress General Secretary in charge of Eastern Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi Vadra too wrote in a tweet, " got the information about the Kanpur incident, killing of four members of a family in Prayagraj and a father and his daughter killed in Ghaziabad. Such thing shows how the state government has bowed down before the criminals"

"Eight policemen were martyred while they went to nab criminals. I pay my condolence to the family of the martyrs. In UP, law and order has become very bad and criminals have no fear. From common man to policemen, no one is safe," she further tweeted.

"The responsibility of law and order is with the chief minister. He should initiate strict action and there should be no laxity in it," she added.

UPCC president Ajay Kumar Lallu alleged that Yogi government has lost control of governance and the law and order had completely collapsed.
"This incident is proof of the fact that there is no government in the state. It is jungle raj where even the police is not safe," he said.
