In the Asia Cup held in Bangkok (Thailand) from 2nd to 9th March 2018, Madhya Pradesh Archery Academy player Muskan Kirar won a gold medal in the individual competition of compound event.
Muskan defeated the player from Malaysia by securing 139 points in the final. Along with this, Promila Daymeri of Assam won gold and Madhu Vedvan of UP and Gaurv Lambe of Maharashtra won 1 bronze medal each for the country in recurve event.
Earlier in the championship, Muskan defeated the player from Taipei (China) in the first match with 142 points. In the quarterfinal she defeated Indonesian player by securing 147 points and Malaysian player in the semi-final by scoring 148 points.
In the championship, Muskan Kirar, Divya Dhayal and Mrinal Hiwrale are number 1 in the Indian team ranking. The competition of team event will be played on Thursday, 8th March. Academy’s Chief Coach and Technical Advisor, Mr. Richhpal Singh Salaria is participating as a coach of the Indian team in the tournament.
It is worth mentioning that Muskan Kirar won a gold medal in the 37th Sub Junior National Archery Championship held in Bhubaneswar last year. Muskan, who represented India in the 20th Asian Championship (Dhaka) and the Asia Cup (Taipei), has been training at Madhya Pradesh Archery Academy, Jabalpur from the year 2016.
