Jewels worth over Rs two lakh were stolen from a youth after drugging him while he was going in a chartered bus from ISBT. The incident had taken place on January 4. Govindpura police have launched investigations in the case after receiving case diary.
According to the Govindpura police, Nishant Dubey, 32, hails from Sagar. He works in a soap manufacturing firm in Tikamgarh. On January 4 he came to Bhopal to take part in a private programme. He reached ISBT at about 4.30 pm to return to his home.
At the ISBT a man came to him and said he too had to go to Banda. The man purchased a ticket and he soon befriended Nishant. At about 6.30 pm, he brought two cups of tea and gave one to Nishant.
After drinking tea, Nishant felt he was losing consciousness. The unknown man decamped with his 4 tola gold chain,a ring and other valuables worth about Rs 2.25 lakh. The victim said the name Dharmendra Yadav was printed on the accused’s ticket.
The victim had lodged a complaint in Sagar. The Govindpura police have now recived case diary from sagar and started investigations. After reaching Sagar, victim Nishant remained unconscious for two days. He remained hospitalized for 3-4 days.
Furniture godown gutted in MP Nagar
A massive fire broke out in city’s busy commercial hub MP Nagar Zone-2. The fire broke out in the godown of furniture show room housed near Raymond garment showroom.
The cause of fire is believed to be short circuit. According to the BMC, the fire broke out in the afternoon and about half dozen fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flames. No casualty was reported in the incident although loss of property is estimated to be about Rs 10 lakh.
