CBI team attacked in Noida


New Delhi, Feb 23 (UNI) A Central Bureau of Investigation team was attacked by the extended family of an accused, when it reached his village in Gautam Budh Nagar of Uttar Pradesh. As per sources, in an ongoing probe, a CBI team had gone to village Sonpura in Gautam Budh Nagar in search an accused in a bribery case. The team had to serve a notice, however, they were attacked by the members of his extended family and others, in order to help accused Sunil Dutt to escape from the place. The probe agency team was forced inside the premises and beaten up. It is also alleged that mobile phones, diaries and identity cards of some of the team members were burnt and the team was kept hostage. In the meanwhile, the accused managed to escape through backdoor. Noida police, after getting a call, rushed to the spot and rescued the CBI team. The national investigating agency has registered a complaint regarding the incident with the local police and an FIR has been registered in this regard.
