New Delhi, The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Saturday declared the Class 12 results.Once again, the girls have outshined the boys in the academic performance.
This year, the pass percentage of girls is 88.31 per cent whereas boys managed to get 78.99 pc. Last year also girls' pass percentage was 87.50 pc and 78 pc for boys.The overall pass percentage is 83.01 per cent for 2018 Class 12 results.
At all India level, Meghna Srivastava of Step by Step school, Uttar Pradesh has topped the exam with 499 marks.
The second and third positions were secured by Anoushka Chandra also from UP with 498 marks and Chahat Bodhraj of Rajasthan with 497 marks.
Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar congratulated the students who have performed well and also advised students not to lose heart if they have not secured well.
He added that it was a temporary setback and advised them to put more efforts.The HRD Minister also congratulated Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas students for their good performance.

CBSE Class 12 exams 2018 were conducted on March 5. In 2018, a total of 11,86,306 students had registered for the CBSE Class 12 examinations which were held at 4,138 centers in India and 71 centers outside the country.
