Children of fishermen to get Nishadraj scholarship: Arya


Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal Important decisions were taken at a meeting of the M.P Fisheries Federation Working Committee held here today under the chairmanship of Fisheries Welfare and Fisheries Development Minister Antar Singh Arya. Children of fishermen will now be able to avail the benefit of Nishadraj Scholarship Scheme along with other scholarships to promote them for higher education. Earlier children of fishermen who were availing benefits of other scholarships were not eligible for this scheme. Students of graduate level are being granted assistance fund Rs 10 thousand for general subjects and Rs 20 thousand for technical subjects every year under the scheme. This will benefit outstanding students. Additional Chief Secretary V.C. Semwal, Managing Director M.P. Fisheries Federation Mahendra Singh Dhakad, Director Fisheries O.P. Saxena, Deputy Commissioner Cooperative Institutes Vinod Kumar Singh, Deputy Commissioner Agriculture Production V.S. Dhurve were present during the meeting. Employees Provident Fund Scheme has been implemented for labourers working in Fisheries Federation. The labourers will be able to avail the benefits of the scheme from January 1, 2018. Total 24 percent including 12 percent employee’s contribution deducted from the salary of the labourers working in the Federation and 12 percent contribution of the Federation will be deposited in the employee’s Provident Fund account. The working committee reviewed schemes including span, standard fry production, fish seed collection, fish production, progress of fisheries welfare work plans, trimming of Tilopia fish from Halali reservoir and Mahasheer fish seed production.
