City parks set for makeover, beautification


Yadgar-e-Shahjahani Park to be developed in Japanese style

Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal The city parks are set for makeover. The Yadgar-e-Shahjahani Park will be developed in Japanese park style. Many other parks will be beautified and developed. BMC Commissioner Priyanka Das, accompanied by Deputy Commissionert (Garden) Sudha Bhargava, visited Firdous Park, Kilol Park, Khushbu Park, Vardhman Park, Promenad Park,, Neelam Park, Swarn Jayanti Park, Yadgar-e-Shahjahani Park, and Kamla Park on Monday. They had a look at the compost units set up in the parks. BMC Commissioner inspected the sports equipments, watering facilities, open gym, lightning, beautification and other facilities available in the parks and issued necessary directives to make the parks more beautiful. The BMC Commissioner directed to develop Yadgar-e-Shahjahani Park on the lines of Japanese park style and take the services of an architect in this regard. BMC Commissioner Priyanka Das directed to make a pathway and undertake beautification at Kilol Nursery near Lower Lake, install CCTV camera at Kilol Nursery hydrant, install chain link in the middle of Firdous Park Nursery and build a women’s toilet at Firdous Park on priority basis. Priyanka Das directed the fountains that are lying non-functional in the parks must be repaired and re-started. She also directed to make suitable lightning arrangements in all parks, get the benches and dustbins repaired and painted, construct main gates at Kilol Park and Vardhman Park.Priyanka Das asked to set up one additional compost unit at Promenad beside Upper Lake and plant Bougainvillea flowers on Promenad hill.
