CM explains Bhavantar scheme to Vice Chairman of Niti Aayog


Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today met Vice Chairman of Niti Aayog Dr. Rajeev Kumar at his office in New Delhi. During the meeting Shri Chouhan described in detail about the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana being implemented in the state for the welfare of farmers. Shri Chouhan informed that owing to the bumper harvest in the state, sharp decline has been recorded in the rates of agriculture produce. Farmers are unable to get fair price for their crops. To overcome this problem, the State Government has started Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana under which the difference amount between the market rate and minimum support price of agricultural produce is deposited directly to the bank accounts of the farmers. At present, this scheme has been started for the Kharif crops too. Shri Chouhan urged the Niti Aayog Vice Chairman that there should be an arrangement to procure grams, lentils and mustard at minimum support price also. He further informed that the State Government has taken an initiative to establish food processing industries for 3000 children of farmers to provide them an opportunity to set up their own enterprises.
